Blue Moon Gallery announces its 2025 Annual Juried Exhibition
CALL TO ARTISTS
Exhibition Title: “Wall Flowers” | Art About the Beauty & Power of Flowers

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: March 5, 2025 (midnight)
Opening Reception: March 22, 2025 (6-9pm)
“Wall Flowers” as a fine art exhibition aims to visually explore many ideas:
1) The immense beauty and diversity of flowers, including related subjects such as petals and other flower parts, bouquets, vases & pots, floral arrangements, flower beds, etc.
2) The positivity, happiness, inspiration, and healing that flowers bring to people
3) The language, or different meanings, of various floral species
4) Various phrases or idioms related to “flowers” such as flower power, tiptoe through the tulips, everything’s coming up roses, April showers bring May flowers, flower child, etc.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Submissions are welcome in the following media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, assemblage, graphite, colored pencils, ink, pastel, scratchboard, sculpture (metal, wood, found object, wire, etc.) clay, textile/fiber art, encaustic, cold wax, printmaking, gouache, and photo-based art.
The call is open to artists aged 18 years or older in Southeastern WI and the greater Northern IL/Chicagoland vicinity. The gallery is NOT accepting shipped artwork at this time. All artwork must be original and totally conceived & created by the artist. No reproductions. Artists are responsible for adhering to copyright laws that may pertain to their work. All submitted art must be available for sale.
All art must be in excellent condition, clean, free of scratches/nicks/dents/stains, and wired/ ready to hang. No sawtooths. The gallery may refuse to accept art significantly different from that shown in submitted photos or that which is in disrepair (including mats / frames).
SIZE RESTRICTION & FRAMING -- Due to space constraints, art may not be larger than 36” on any side, including mat & frame.
Submit 1 jpg each for up to 2 pieces of art for consideration to bluemoonklk@yahoo.com – the deadline is MIDNIGHT, March 5. Late submissions will not be considered.
To send jpgs of images and submission materials follow these instructions carefully:
1.) Send ALL submission materials in ONE email. Do not send separate emails for each photo and each statement, etc.
2.) Because space is limited, it is imperative to have dimensions for both the image size and the matted/framed size. Each jpg should be titled to include: artist’s name, artwork title, medium, image size, framed size, and price.

3.) If your work is accepted: works on paper must be framed; unframed works on canvas don’t require frames but must have finished edges on all sides.
4.) Send photos that are free of glare (outdoor shade or indoor large window lighting can help) and properly cropped (no cluttered backgrounds) without blur.
5.) In the body of your email, include the following:
-- artist’s statement for EACH work (50 words or less) & how it relates to the theme
-- your contact information – name, mobile phone, email address
6.) Label your email subject line as “FLOWERS.”
SUBMISSION FEE & Payment Options $35 per artist for up to 2 pieces of artwork. Fees are non-refundable. Submissions without a fee will not be considered.

Notification to Artists: by Monday, March 10
Art Drop-Off: Wednesday, March 13, 2-6pm
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 22, 6-9pm at the Blue Moon Gallery
Art Pick-Up: Monday, April 28, 3-6pm
The exhibition will be on view through April 27. The gallery will be open on Sunday, March 23, 1-4pm and Saturdays (hours TBD) through April 27. Additional hours will be communicated, if applicable.
PRIZES – $250 1st, $150 2nd, $100 3rd place + Honorable Mention certificates determined by the juror, announced at Opening Reception.
MARKETING, SALES, INSURANCE, INQUIRIES The gallery will execute extensive marketing to promote this exhibition. Participating artists will receive digital resources to use on social media platforms and in emails. Artists retain 60% of all sales. Artists are expected to properly insure their artwork. All inquiries will receive a response later this fall (or early 2025).
There is an exhibition fee to show art at Blue Moon which covers costs related to gallery operations, extensive marketing and promotion, event hosting, and exhibition installation. Fees vary depending on exhibition duration and space. Fees currently range from $75 to $700 and are subject to change. Artists participating in small group shows can split/divide the fee. Artists retain 60% of all sales. Please note: The Gallery Director/Owner and staff do not receive any salary or payroll.
