Encaustic works by Rebecca Stahr
“My paintings often feel like ethereal atmospheric inner landscapes. My art is born out of a larger spiritual contemplative practice rooted in experiencing the divine sacred connectedness in our natural world and its rhythms and patterns. My studio is a sacred space for me and is a place where exploration and play become holy acts in a conversation. The process of mixing the paint, layering, mark-making and scraping away is meditative and prayer-like. It stirs an inner dialogue, a spiritual connection, that starts a raw flow from deep within. My soul intuitively knowing what it wants to give and what it needs to receive. The painting becomes a record of that journey and a path of healing and deeper understanding.” — Rebecca Stahr
